We took some time this month to catch up with the Face Behind the vegan accessories brand, Mash Accessories. We had a list of questions for the sister duo brand and had the pleasure to chat with Mansi to fill us in on their journey.
‘I love to create stylish accessories and that they are VEGAN’ – Manis, Mash Accessories
Where did the name Mash Accessories come from?
The word mash came the combination for my name, Mansi and my sisters name, Shivani.
Shivani is the guiding soul behind my brand.
What gave you the motivation to start Mash Accessories?
Whenever I bought a bag from anywhere I would love to be creative and do some thread work, patch work or even painted it just to make it stand out.
A lot goes into deigning your bags, what is the most exciting part of the process?
The most exciting part is when the designs I have created come to life – the sampling, I love it. I learn so much every time I go through this process.
How do you come up with your designs?
I get inspiration from nature and lifestyle. My latest collection is the social butterfly – The inspiration of the butterfly range steamed from how we as ladies love to go out party and enjoy ourselves thus social butterfly.
Creating fast fashion is easy and unattractive how have you found this journey to stay in line with your ethical morals? Where are Mash Accessories made? Please tell us a little bit about this also including the ethical practice if you can.
The most important is having your rules set, visiting the factory you have chosen to see what they do, how ethical are they. Mash is made in India, we make sure we work factories that are clean and suitable for the artists and our paid according to the Indian standards. It is sometime difficult because having an overseas manufacturer but once you set your rules it is easy .
What has been the greatest highlight for Mash Accessories?
Meeting customers and hearing how much they appreciating your unique style.
What were you doing prior to Mash Accessories?
A Full time mom
If you could give one piece of advice to anyone starting a business what would it be?
If you have a passion to do something go for it , maybe it might not succeed the first time but the determination and hard work always pays off . Work hard and achieve success
What do you do in your down time?
Down time is with my kids , this time with them will never come back and I want to share those special moments with them . I still do get sometime for my creative ideas to pen down.
If you could escape right now to one place where would it be? If you could only take 5 items and one meal with you what would they be?
If I could escape to one place would be my parent’s house. My Parents stay in a small holy town called Rishikesh in India. the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. what makes this place my ideal place is it being the most peaceful and serene place

If I am staying at my mum’s house as my escape I would definitely be fed more than one meal. But if it has to be one meal – Idli chutney ( an Indian dish), even though it’s a south Indian cuisine but my mom creates magic with food. I can’t make it still but it’s my mum’s recipe and by far my favourite dish.
